We had looked at the St Johns’ Chapel, but this has now been brought and work has been started to convert it into 3 houses. The donations for this project were enough to open the Community café at Stone Village Hall.
EYAI is now looking to convert the Stone Rose & Crown pub into a community centre.
EYAI opened the EYAI community café in September 2023 in order to start raising awareness for our bigger plan for the Stone area.
The Rose and Crown has already started to be converted into a 5-bedroom house with the bar area now a kitchen, converting this into a community centre is going to cost a lot less than the original plan with St Johns Chapel.
It still has a small garden which will be ideal in the summer for the café. Although car parking will be on the side road.
We are looking to raise £450,000 for this project.
